Wedding photography…

Wikipedia defines it as “wedding photography is a major commercial endeavor that supports the bulk of the efforts for many photography studios or independent photographers.”

I, along with what many others will agree on, describe it as a service to those who want to remember their special day via photos and we are lucky enough to be able to capture those moments for them.

To me wedding photography, even though getting paid is needed, is not all about how much I can make in a day and blah blah blah. It’s more about using the talent that God has given me to see great moments in life and capture them with the click of a shutter. It’s the beginning of new relationships, whether short term or long term. It’s the feeling of happiness when seeing the bride and groom say I do. It’s that warm feeling of the giving spirit that you get when it’s all said and done, and their breath is taken away at the sight of their wedding album. All of these things is what makes wedding photography so great, it keeps you wanting more and more, I love it!

So if you’re thinking about pursuing wedding photography, seriously consider all of these things that come into effect. It is hard work, mostly mental stress before, during, and after the wedding. Your mind constantly going as it discovers new angles to take, how much light to let in, landscape or portrait, etc…the list goes on. But at the end of the day when it’s all said and done, you get to look back at the great memories you have made, friendships you’ve begun, and I wouldn’t trade it for all the money in world.

Happy New Years!

Wow it’s hard to believe that 2008 has already come and gone. It has been a great year! A year filled with ups and downs, and all sort of turnarounds! 

But I wouldn’t trade it for the world, it was awesome! From the people I met, the places I went, the love I shared, the feelings felt, the fun times, the bad times, and the list could go on.

And now with 2009 only a couple hours away, I must face the music and live my life a little better than the last year. Each year should be one where you try to out-do the last.

I just wanted to share these thought with you all and hopefully they will inspire you to do the same thing!
